Man has always been adventurous. He climbs snow-capped mountains and dives into the deepest oceans. He rides a raft or a kayak in rampaging white waters and swims in underground rivers. For men such as these, the Canon PowerShot D10 is a perfect traveling companion.
This bright blue and silver digital camera, measuring at approximately 104 x 67 x 49 mm, is a little bulkier than other digital cameras, even other PowerShot models. However, it packs much more features. It is truly an adventurer’s camera as it is waterproof, shockproof, and freeze proof.
You can take your PowerShot D10 down to 10 meters underwater and take photographs of colorful fishes, marine mammals, corals, sea weeds, shipwrecks, or underwater landscapes and cave systems. On land, you can even actually drop the camera from a height of over one meter and not worry about damaging it. And when you are out skiing or snowboarding, the PowerShot will continue to take pictures as it can operate even at -10°C.
Canon has incorporated all these features without sacrificing image quality. DIGIC 4, the company’s most advanced image processor, through its evolved Face Detection Technology, assures proper exposure, flash, white balance, and focus of every face in the picture. It also enables i-Contrast or Intelligent Contrast Correction. This brightens dark areas while leaving bright areas unchanged thus improving images. Red-eye correction is also a standard feature.
With a resolution of 12.1 megapixels your photos can be enlarged up to 33 x 48 cm with any blurring. A 3x optical zoom allows you to shoot sharp photos even at a distance. When coupled with a 4x digital zoom, you get a combined zoom of 12x. It Optical Image Stabilizer Technology automatically detects camera shake and takes corrective action. Fuzzy shots are thus minimized if not eliminated.
