Ewa-marine manufactures a line of waterproof camcorder cases or housing designed to fit specific brands and models of camcorders from different manufacturers including Sony, JVC, Panasonic, and Canon to name a few. There are also cases that are meant to hold camcorders of any brand and model and to protect them from water. Whether these cases are meant for a specific model or for universal use, they have basically the same features.
These cases are made of double laminated PVC making them 100 percent waterproof up to 10 meters under water. The case is flexible enough to allow you to manipulate all of the camcorder’s controls. To allow light to pass through to the lens without distorting images, there is a glass port at the front of the case made of hardened optical grade glass.
The cases are equipped with straps at the top and bottom. These are colored gray but they are lined with yellow stripes for better visibility when under water. The straps at the top are intended for carrying the case, while those at the bottom are for the attachment of weights for better buoyancy. There is also a padded strap at the right side into which you can insert your hand when manipulating the play and record controls. The bottom of the case where the camcorder rests is supplied with a padding made of foam.
