Ikelite #6809 Underwater Housing for Nikon D90

Ikelite 6809 Underwater Housing for Nikon D90

The Nikon D90 is a DSLR camera with a 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor. This, along with a list of Nikon technologies such as a split-second shutter response, Scene Recognition System, Picture Control, Active D-Lighting, finer White Balance detection, Live View, and low-noise ISO sensitivity from 200 to 3200, assures you of photos of excellent quality. It is also the first DSLR with a movie function that is capable of recording 24 fps HD with sound. Its LCD screen is a 3-inch super-density 920,000 dot color monitor.

This fine camera will give you hours of rewarding photo sessions resulting in great pictures, but only on land. Unless you purchase the Ikelite #6809 Underwater Housing specifically constructed for the Nikon D90, you won’t be able to use your camera over more than half of the world’s area.

The Ikelite #6809 has a heavy duty thick wall that is made of polycarbonate. This is clear, corrosion-free, and can withstand water pressure even at depths of 60 meters. The controls, which allow access to all of the D90’s buttons and knobs, are equipped with Quad-Ring seal glands. Handling the camera underwater is a breeze as its size and weight provide natural buoyancy.

Different types of lens ports can be attached to the Ikelite #6809 to accommodate different types of lenses, whether macro, wide-angle, or zoom lenses. The attachment has a simple locking system yet it is secured from leaks by a port O-ring seal.

As the visibility of the camera’s viewfinder may be impaired when wearing a diving mask, Ikelite thoughtfully included a Super-Eye Magnifier to remedy the problem. The LCD can also be viewed without any obstruction thus allowing full use of the D-Movie and Live View features of the D90.
