The Olympus Stylus is 10.1 megapixel digital camera with a 3.6x optical zoom lens. This is the equivalent of 28 to 102 mm in 35 mm versions and which enables you to take up close and personal pictures to group portraits and landscapes. A 5x digital zoom further enlarges captured images. The viewfinder is a 2.7-inch HyperCrytal™ II LCD which features first-rate color and contrast reproductions resulting to realistic image displays even in direct sunlight. An ISO sensitivity that ranges from 80 to 1,600 complemented by a shutter speed that can be varied from 4 to 1/1000, allows outdoor as well as action photography and shooting in low-light conditions.
The best thing about the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW, however, is not its high resolution, zoom lens, LCD, ISO sensitivity, or shutter speed. It is outstanding because it combines all these great features in a body that is strong, robust, tough, and hardy.
You can drop it, intentionally or not, from a height of 6.6 feet and it will still continue taking beautiful photos. The shock-absorbing construction of its rugged metal body makes the Stylus 1030 SW shockproof.
Waterproof gaskets and seals waterproof the camera. You can shoot pictures in pools, rivers, lakes, and seas, whether above or under water even up to 33 feet.
It is also freezeproof. You can ski in high altitudes with temperatures as low as 14°F and not worry about not being able to bring home photos of your adventure.
Since water pressure increases by as much as 100% when diving from the surface to a depth of 33 feet, the metal body and LCD have been strengthened to withstand pressure up to 220 LBF. This means the Stylus 1030 SW is crushproof.
It can be purchased in silver, black, or green.
