The Olympus Stylus Tough series is a line of waterproof cameras with varying resolutions and underwater depth capabilities. Depending on your needs and budget you can choose from any of the five Stylus Tough models. Among them is the 1050 SW.
The 1050 SW is a 10.1-megapixel digital camera with 3X optical zoom plus 5X digital zoom. These features enable the camera to take distant photos without getting close to them, and to enlarge the images even further without loss of clarity. Its ISO sensitivity that ranges from 80 to 1600 and a shutter speed from a low of ¼ to a high of 1/1000 helps minimize the possibility of blurry pictures resulting from camera shake or a fast moving subject. A 2.7-inch LCD display with anti-glare technology shows you exactly what your picture will look like even before releasing the shutter.
Other features of the 1050 SW are its 27 shooting modes, Panorama which connects three images into a single panoramic picture, continuous shooting of up to 5.4 frames per second, Face Recognition technology that can detect as many as 16 faces, and a Smile Shot that takes three consecutive exposures to capture the best smile.
All these features are encased in a metal body that is durable enough, with a little help from a new shock-absorbing technology, to withstand a drop from five feet high. Innovative waterproof gaskets and seals keep the inner mechanisms of the camera dry even under 10 feet of water. A temperature level of 14°F will not freeze the camera and keep it from functioning.
All these means that you can take perfect pictures almost anywhere –on land, in the water, or on snow without worrying about breaking or soaking your camera.
