The Stylus 850SW is a high resolution 8-megapixel camera CCD which allows large prints and cropping without blurring. A 3x optical zoom complemented by a 5x digital zoom gets you a close-up photo of a cobra without fear of getting bitten. At its back is a 2.5-inch HyperCrystal™ LCD display that shows exactly how your photo will look like. It does not glare and remains clear even in direct sunlight.
Inside the durable metal camera body is a floating circuit board within a shock-absorbing structure. This design provides the Stylus 850SW the strength to withstand falls from five feet high.
Special seals and gaskets are incorporated into the camera. These keep out water up to a depth of 10 feet under the waves allowing you to take pictures of sharks and dolphins. If it can keep water out, it can also keep dust and dirt out so that you can bring it to the dessert dunes and take pictures of scorpions.
This camera is winterized. It will continue to take pictures even at temperatures of -10°C. If you don’t like sharks and scorpions and would rather take photos of polar bears and yetis, this camera can easily handle the job.
To guarantee great pictures, the Stylus 850SW is equipped with Face Detection and Digital Stabilization Technologies. Face Detection tracks the faces of your subjects and automatically adjusts focus and exposure. Digital Stabilization corrects camera shake by adjusting ISO and shutter speeds.
Twenty-eight shooting modes are incorporated into this camera. There is also an In-Camera Panorama mode that links three images into a single panoramic view. If you can’t use the built-in flash, you can illuminate your subjects with a built-in LED –perfect for low-light shooting for dramatic effect.
Power source is a lithium-ion battery or an AC Adapter with the optional DC Coupler.
