The Sealife DC600 Digital Underwater Camera features a 6.1 megapixel sensor. These pixels are optimized for absorbing light thus they produce images that are sharp with vivid colors. With a 3x optical zoom coupled with 4x digital zoom, you can zoom in on a shark and get up close and personal with it without getting dangerously within its reach.
A 2.5-inch LCD that has been made brighter makes it easy to compose your photos even while underwater. The DC600 can get to a depth of 200 feet. At this level, light becomes scarce.
Shooting modes of the DC600 include Land and Sea Modes. There are 12 Land Modes including day and night shooting, portraits to landscapes. The Sea Mode features Color Booster which adjusts white balance to restore colors that are lost at greater depths. There is less light as you get deeper thus colors tend to lose their intensity.
There is also an External Flash Mode which allows the attachment of up to two external flashes. A Spy Mode sets the camera to automatically release the shutter at pre-set intervals. You can thus set it on a tripod and leave it to take photos on its own. This will help to capture images of camera shy subjects such as certain types of marine life.
Images are stored in an SD memory card that is compatible up to 1GB. A lithium-ion battery powers the camera.
